I've been working on a video summarizing my trip in January -- including science and travels -- for the past several weeks, and I've finally finished it. Check it out!

Well done Ann.
ReplyDeleteThe most fascinating part was the dry valleys.
It seemed strange to see that wall of ice in a desert.
A really cold desert, but a desert none the less.
I heard Nick Morgan say the ozone has not begun to recover yet.
Did you have to take special precaution concerning UV?
Hi TomG,
ReplyDeleteThank you. Yes, it is extremely important to protect oneself from UV exposure in Antarctica. The ozone hole is largest during Southern Hemisphere spring. Even without considering the ozone hole, the atmosphere is thinner there and ~85% of solar radiation is reflected back up from the ice, not to mention 24 hours of sunlight during Antarctica's summer. A lot of sunscreen!
Thank you for posting your adventures. Would love to visit someday.
ReplyDeleteAnn i watch your video which you share here. Your Antarctica adventure is really great. I get lots of fun to watch this video.
